C (Credentials)
CP's executive editor is Richard Land, who received his A.B. in history from Princeton University in 1969. He later went on to receive his Th.M. from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary and DPhil from Regent’s Park, University of Oxford, where he did his doctorate research on the Puritan movement in 17th century England.
Information on the credentials of other CP journalists can be found by clicking on the writer's names.
We give Christian Post a 7/10 in credentials.
S (Sources)
Sources used by CP include:
Persecution.org—right-biased
Daily Wire—mixed reliability, strongly right-biased
Pew Research Center—very reliable, least-biased
Central Intelligence Agency (CIA)—very reliable
CP does not always list their sources, making it difficult to confirm their claims. For these reasons we give CP a 7/10 in sources.
B (Bias)
CP's home page shows some bias. They run right-leaning, sometimes emotional headlines such as:
"World Vision deploys disaster relief to Central America after 2 hurricanes hammer region"
"Calif. legislators advocate civil disobedience following new state COVID-19 restrictions"
"‘The Next Jihad': Evangelical leader, rabbi warn about 'Christian genocide’ in Africa"
Their story selection also favors the right, as this is a news site for Christians. They publish biased opinion articles that favor the right but come from various viewpoints. For instance:
"The increasing intolerance of the left must stop"
"In any election, character matters most"
"Is there a pro-life evangelical argument for Biden?"
We give the CP a 6/10 in bias, primarily for story selection and opinion articles.
