I recently received one of the latest collections of Tolkien's notes, The Nature Of Middle-earth. Edited by Carl F. Hostetter, it includes commentaries on the flora and fauna of Númenor, notes and calculations on Eldarian aging and growth, and Tolkien firmly saying that Aragorn did not have a beard.
It's extremely nerdy and informative, fleshing out little realities of the legendarium. Most of the notes were written late in Tolkien's life, making them perhaps "more canon" than some others.
I wholeheartedly recommend this book if you are a particularly nerdy Tolkien fan.
