Just some interesting data.
A Sith uses the Force.
Darth Vader (Star Wars)
Sauron (Lord of the Rings and Hobbit films)
Sauron wields a mace which uses black magic to smash enemies, and can throw tall Men wearing armor for at least a dozen yards. He pinned Gandalf to a wall with nothing but magic. (Much more is implied.)
Saruman (Lord of the Rings and Hobbit films)
Saruman sent ringwraiths flying with blasts from his staff in The Battle of the Five Armies. He blasted Gandalf through the air and pinned him to the wall in Fellowship, then knocked him over several times. He later pinned him again, spun him in a spiral and smashed him into the ceiling. (Much more is implied.)
Gandalf (Lord of the Rings and Hobbit books)
Gandalf manipulated water into the shapes of horses, and created a minor rockslide. He broke a solid rock bridge with a shockwave from his staff. (Much more is implied.)
Gandalf (Lord of the Rings and Hobbit films)
Gandalf knocked Saruman over several times in Fellowship. Like in the book, he broke Durin's bridge with a shockwave from his staff. (Much more is implied.)
