Dedicated "Vs" Sites
StarDestroyer.Net—Back in the late '90s and early 2000s, this website was a very active place. Engineer Michael Wong discusses Star Wars vs Star Trek, and tears apart common Trekkie arguments. If you enjoy reading fiery beatdowns of scientifically ignorant ideas, you'll like this.
ST-vs-SW.Net—Another Wars vs Trek site, made basically to combat StarDestroyer.Net. An unreliable source most of the time. Here's a discussion of its problems, written by myself.
VS Battles Wiki—Honestly, just mentioning this site makes me sad. Its premise is so cool, but since it's a wiki, there's little quality control. In addition, its official calculation methods are only good for ballpark estimation. Another thing: If a profile for a character says that said character is Massively Hypersonic, that character can be basically assumed to not be that fast. Because dodging slow lightning doesn't make you as fast as real lightning.
Starfleet Jedi—Another analysis of Wars vs Trek, this one not all that comprehensive, and with a lot of "out there" interpretations of events, such as the notion that because the Naboo fighters attacked a Trade Federation battleship their weapons have to be a threat to capital ships. (Never mind that they were actually ineffective other than Anakin's one-in-a-million shot, or that the "battleship" was a converted freighter.) I don't consider it a reliable source.
SciFights.Net—In-depth explanations of various sci-fi matchups. I haven't really checked it out.
Information/Analysis Sites
Star Wars Technical Commentaries—An enormously comprehensive source of Star Wars information. Run by a Phd astrophysicist, it discusses weaponry, ships, aliens, common myths, etc.
Middle-Earth Blog—Tolkien Scholar Michael Martinez discusses intelligently the works of J.R.R. Tolkien. Seriously, this site is awesome.
Daystrom Institute Technical Library—Well-formatted source of raw data and unsupported, unscientific speculation on Star Trek.
Rodent Wars Forum Database—Run by myself, used to discuss a rodent themed role-playing sci-fi game I and my friends made. You won't be able to view most of the other boards, but the database may prove very useful. We act as if the things we analyze happened in Rodent Wars, with all the scaling changes that entails.
LoreMaster—knowledgable breakdowns of complex topics relating to Tolkien's mythology and to Tolkien-related gaming.
Star Trek: WWW—Very old Trek general information site.
Ex Astris Scientia—Another Trek general information site, focusing more on history and ships. Has an excellent analysis of the inconsistency of the sizes of Klingon Birds-of-Prey.
Star Wars: Turbolaser Commentaries—Formerly its own independent site but now hosted by StarDestroyer.Net. Excellent discussion and analysis of Star Wars turbolaser cannons.
Atomic Rockets—Hugely comprehensive and very scientific analysis of sci-fi starships.
Future War Stories—Great source of scientific and tactical speculation about future warfare by a military man.
ToughSF—I don't know much about this site, but Atomic Rockets recommends it.
How To Build a Laser Death Ray—Analysis of lasers as a futuristic weapon type.
