It's awesome.
Where's William? (That's my middle name. "William". Not "Where's William?")
You may have heard of TeenPact. It's basically "government camp" where you go and learn for 1-5 days, but there's both an actual camp and the option to just show up every day, which we did.
Heidi and I did it back near the beginning of the year. We went to the Oregon State Capitol, and we got to sit in the Oregon House of Representatives fours days in a row (I sat down like Riker once or twice). I also joined a special fifth-day class, where I sang the chorus of "Never Gonna Give You Up" a cappella (don't ask). I had a mild cold, so my voice was deeper than normal.
We learned about the political processes at the state and federal levels, and held mock legislative sessions. In one of those sessions I was booed by almost everyone there, for objecting to a motion to move a bill to make all the TeenPact administrators do the Hokey Pokey. But the people there were really nice, and they made me feel comfortable. Also, I got to wear a comfy suit and stand like Paul for five days in a row. So, it was awesome.
Haha, gotcha. Here.
