I have said many times that the best work of fiction of all time is The Lord of the Rings, and it's not even that close. But another absolutely amazing book that I absolutely love is Frank Herbert's epic sci-fi/fantasy story Dune. I don't have time to explain it to you here, but it's certainly in my top five favorites. It's been adapted to film a couple times, and no movie did it justice.
AND NOW THEY'RE MAKING A REMAKE!
Okay, this is old news. We've known this since 2020—since before I read the book. But somehow I have neglected to mention this on my blog. Well, now I've mentioned it. And the fact that the producers keep comparing it to LOTR.
The trailer looks awesome. The director says it's the best movie he's ever made. And the cast is amazing, including the actors who played:

"Bootstrap" Bill Turner (Pirates of the Caribbean)—as Baron Vladimir Harkonnen
Laurie Laurence (Little Women)—as Paul Atreides
Joseph (The Nativity Story), Poe Dameron (Star Wars)—as Duke Leto Atreides
The film comes out October 1, 2021.
