Another(!) List of My Favorite Movies

Hey, there's a lot of good ones I keep finding.

Honorable mentions: The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, The Bourne Supremacy, Jurassic Park, Spider-Man: Far From Home, Captain America: The First Avenger, The Nativity Story

20: The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies—it's not Tolkien, but it's still awesome.

19: Top Gun: Maverick—WHOA! So epic and fast, with real-feeling combat and a ton of emotional weight.

18: Sisu—absolutely insane Finnish revenge flick. Brutally fantastic. Incredible storytelling.

17: John Wick—raw, awesome action combined with great style and emotional depth.

16: The Bourne Ultimatum—fast-paced, gritty, and well-written.

15: Jason Bourne—A fitting closing film for a great saga.

14: The Bourne Identity—a secret agent film that's both awesome and intelligent.

13: John Wick: Chapter 2—perfectly put together pure action film. The fight scenes are a step up even from the first movie, which is saying a lot.

12: John Wick: Chapter 3—Parabellum—amazing cinematography, political intrigue, and of course the classic JW action.

11: Gladiator—best historical fiction movie. Are you not entertained?!

10: John Wick: Chapter 4—best of the entire saga, and my new favorite raw action film.

9: Arrival—Dennis Villeneuve is a master of atmosphere, subtle tension, and looming, impending fate.

8: Interstellar—amazing soundtrack and great story, even if it has a few plot holes.

7: The Martian—SCIENCE.

6: Inception—Chris Nolan, you genius.

5: Oppenheimer—my absolute favorite movie with zero action. Moodly, brooding, emotionally compelling, and historically accurate to boot.

4: The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers—while they kind of changed the message, it's still LOTR.

3: The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring—the most true to the book of the series.

2: Dune: Part One—quite true to the book, well-acted and scored, and awesome.

1: The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King—I doubt anything will ever top this.
